Introducing Our New French Terry Collection

By Lindsay Tapscott

As the weather gets colder, all we want to do is feel warm and oh-so-cozy. Give us clothes that are the equivalent of a burning fire, a mug of hot tea and a really good book that you read on the couch while wrapped in a blanket: soft separates, head-to-toe knits, fuzzy feels on the skin. It’s a way of dressing that’s easy on the eyes and on our bodies, at a time of year when the chillier temperatures have us yearning for simplicity, ease and a feeling of safety. We want our clothes to be as comfortable as they are chic––relaxed without being completely dressed-down.

The Perfect Women’s Fashion Fabric for Fall and Winter

In our quest for the perfect fall-to-winter transitional threads, we’re welcoming French terry to our Sympli family of fabrics with a brand-new collection. Originally created in France, French terry is a knit fabric made primarily of cotton with loops on one side and soft piles of yarn on the other, resulting in a soft, plush texture already familiar to you from your comfiest loungewear. The fabric is mid-weight, which means it’s lighter than cold-weather sweatpants but heavier than your average T-shirt (it keeps you cool on warmer days and warm on cooler days, making it perfect for our current chilly-in-the-morning-hot-in-the-afternoon season). It’s also moisture-wicking, absorbent, and suuuuuuper-soft.

Our pieces––a range of tops and bottoms––are practical and versatile staples that lend themselves stylishly to weekends, working-from-home, or as elevated outer layers for running quick errands. They’re 95% cotton and 5% spandex, which makes them nice and stretchy, and, like all our collections here at Sympli, each piece mixes timeless style with a little bit of edge for our ever-contemporary customer.

The French Terry Boxy Sweatshirt

Our French Terry Boxy Sweatshirt is slouchy, features a drawstring cowl neck (is there anything better for feeling burrowed in your clothes?), and has a large front pocket for tucking away your hands from the cold.

The French Terry Pullover

The seaming detail, drop shoulder and boxy fit of this pullover adds a bit of edge to an otherwise off-duty outfit.

The French Terry Raglan Sleeve Hoodie

Raglan sleeves, a drawstring hood, and deep front patch pockets on a French terry sweatshirt––that’s fashion-speak for “cozy fall Saturday.”

The French Terry Go To Cardigan

The cardigan is a fall wardrobe essential and this one, made from French terry fabric, feels like wrapping yourself in a (stylish) blanket.

The French Terry Jogger

These super-soft sweatpants feature a snug, stretchy waistband, side pockets with stitch detail, and a mid-length inseam that hits at the ankle.

The French Terry Wide Leg Pant

A breezy, pull-on-and-go pant with an elastic waistband and side patch pockets feels fresh and current while staying effortlessly timeless.

LOOKING FOR MORE OPTIONS?

Top off our French terry pieces with our new Bamboo T-shirt Collection, for an extra-soft and luxurious look. Made with 95% bamboo viscose rayon and 5% spandex, our bamboo T-shirts have a soft, high-quality feel to them that’s smoother than cotton and airy on the skin. Plus, bamboo fabric naturally resists odour and moisture, making these Ts wear-anywhere essentials.

The Bamboo Crew Neck T-shirt

The quintessential T-shirt with a super-soft feel on the skin. Its boxy cut and classic crew neckline make it wearable with anything, whether you’re dressing it up with a skirt and heels or down with sweatpants and sneakers.

The Bamboo V-Neck Boxy Top

Another great top for dressing up or down, this V-neck shirt with dolman long sleeves layers well with other items and makes for a simple statement that’s anything but basic.
