The Sympli Community
What Local Means to Us
Sympli owes its existence to a vibrant community of women and their continuing support. What does it mean for us to have kept production local after nearly 2 decades? It means that we have had a team of dedicated individuals that have stuck by our side through thick and thin. The office is more than just a place of work, it’s a family. Playful pups keep us company as they meander through the halls, and monthly cake days ensure that every birthday is celebrated with some off-key singing. Our home is among a group of determined and enthusiastic individuals. We have worked together to grow and develop Sympli through inspiration, talent, and leadership. Therefore by staying local, our community stays strong. It’s more than smart business, it’s the only thing that makes sense!
Local, from Beginning to End
Our clothing is designed and manufactured by a very special group of people, each of whom is important to Sympli. Our Design team spends months pouring over a new collection, tailoring each piece to flatter and compliment every body type because we adamantly believe that no woman should ever feel forgotten. After the design has been finalized, our Production team comes together to make the dream a reality.
The Home Sewing Network
At Sympli, we are fortunate to engage with a network of home-based sewers. What’s special about our clothing is the meticulous attention that goes into producing each and every piece. Today, the majority of Sympli garments are sewn by a collective of women in customized factory spaces set up in their own homes. This grants them the independence of entrepreneurship, and the flexibility to care for their families. Once produced, our Sales team takes Sympli to buyers, where it travels across North America until it finds a home in your wardrobe.
The Sympli Community
Don’t just take our word for it! We asked a few of our home sewers what they liked most about working for Sympli:
Q: What does it mean to you to be able to work from home?
A: It means a stable livelihood, and most importantly, a flexible schedule. It’s also important for the relationship I have with my children. I’m available for the younger ones that might not see me as often if I didn’t work from home. I also enjoy the feeling of success and accomplishment when I complete a garment, it’s very satisfying.
Q: Would you teach your children how to sew?
A: Yes, it can be a useful thing to know. It’s important that the next generation know how to repair a garment when needed, and what sort of work goes into making one. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance, which are valuable skills for more than just sewing.
Q: What is your favourite part of working with Sympli?
A: I have confidence in the brand. The production is steady, well planned, and our team supports and grows the local economy. It’s a brand you can trust.
By keeping our production local we can ensure the quality of our apparel, and the working conditions of all those involved in the process. We value everyone’s contribution no matter how big or small. While any woman can appreciate the beauty and grace of a well-designed garment, it takes wearing Sympli to really feel the love that went into its creation. The Sympli team works together to create a community. Together, we are a family united behind a common goal: to provide women with the wardrobe they deserve.
